Toy Review – I Never Forget A Face Memory Game by Eeboo

By Paige Lindblom | Being a Kind Friend, Families, Respecting Differences, Teaching Diversity, Toys, Uncategorized | 1 comment | 15 May, 2016 | 0

Multicultural toys and games are hard to find, so we were excited to check out the I Never Forget a Face Memory Game by Eeboo.  Eeboo is known for it's beautifully illustrated games and this memory match game is no exception.  Each game comes with 24 pairs of different children's faces for matching.  Each face is on a 2.25" by 2.25" card which is made of chunky cardboard, perfect for small hands.  The faces represent children from different countries, with some being in native costume.  Mostly, they just look like regular kids.

This game is a fun way to practice matching skills, facial recognition, and memory skills.  Lots of cultures and skin colors are represented.  Where some "multicultural" games just represent black and white kids, this one represents children of all skintones and nationalities.  We especially liked the girl wearing the hijab, something that has become commonplace in our country.  The game encourages curiosity and questions.  You could even have a globe on hand for a quick geography lesson as you play.

Our verdict:  We love it!  Facial recognition and memory skills, all in a beautifully illustrated multicultural package.  Next time you are buying a memory game, consider adding a dose of diversity with this one.  Perfect for ages 5 and up (although anyone 3 and above would enjoy it).
